You are invited to the opening of the exhibition Oni / They on Monday, 1 April, at 12 p.m. at the Ban Jelačić Square in Zagreb (near Jurišićeva Street). The exhibition is a part of the accompanying program of the Festival of Tolerance, organized under the auspices of UNHCR Croatia in collaboration with the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS). From 1 April to 15 April, pop-up installations will be set up on four squares of the City of Zagreb (Ban Jelačić Square, Preradović Square, Square of the Republic of Croatia and the King Tomislav Square), showing portraits of four refugees from Syria, Iraq and Iran, who are currently living in Croatia.
The opening of the exhibition Oni /They will be attended by the organizational team, helmed by the Director of the Festival of Tolerance Nataša Popović, the photographers Ana Opalić, Mare Milin, Stanko Herceg and Ivan Posavec, the refugees whose portraits are the subject of the exhibition as well as representatives of UNHCR Croatia and the Jesuit Refugee Service.
The thirteenth iteration of the Festival of Tolerance, which will be held from 7 to 13 April in the Zagreb cinemas Europa, Tuškanac and Kinoteka, will place special emphasis on the importance of acceptance and respecting diversity as well as the fundamental principles of equality and justice, while also particularly addressing the burning global issue of refugees.
