INTERNATIONAL TALENT WORKSHOP - ITW
ITW, when it launched in 2008, was the first international workshop for students in Croatia. Its programs unites film theory and practice, for the purpose of connecting formal education with its practical application and creation of multicultural dialogue among the attendants from all over the world. The workshops goal is to ensure quality and measurable results through working in a friendly surroundings, and finally, to produce and realize two short digital films every year. In its 7 years, the workshop was attended by more then 130 students from 25 countries (aside from EU participants were from Africa, USA, Israel and region), and 10 short films were produced. The most successful film was "Games", produced in 2014, that was shown on 6 regional editions of Festival of Tolerance (Zagreb, Rijeka, Cetinje, Sarajevo, Beograd, Ljubljana), at Motovun Film Festival (2 projections - Motovun and Zagreb), in the unofficial selection of Croatian Film Days, and internationally at LET’S CEE Film Festival (Austria), San Diego Jewish Film Festival (USA), Skomrahi FF (Macedonia) and Warsaw Jewish Film Festival (Poland).
The theoretical part of ITW consists of lectures by renowned professionals from the film industry, directors, actors, screenwriters, producers, Croatian and international experts such as: Branko Lustig (two time winner of Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe), Jochen Alexander Freydank (Oscar winner), Florian Gallenberger (Oscar winner), StelanSkarsgård (European Film Award and Silver Bear in Berlin winner), Michael W. King (Emmy winner), Mirko Ilić (lecturer at School of Visual Arts u New York, USA; art director at New York Times, graphic designer who’s works are exhibited at Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York), Nenad Puhovski (founder of the Factum production house and director of Festival of documentary film - Zagreb Dox), Dalibor Matanić (director, winner of jury reward in Un Certain Regard at Cannes Film Festival) and others.
Due to the lack of financial support ITW was last held in 2014.
