The screening of the Polish film Werewolf  tomorrow, on Sunday, 7 April at 7 p.m. will open the 13^th Festival of Tolerance – JFF Zagreb. The official opening ceremony will, instead of the announced cinema Europa, be held in the cinema Student Center, Savska 25. Also, due to the unavailability of the cinema Europa venue, the entire program envisaged to be held in this cinema is moving to the Student Center as well as the cinemas Kinoteka and Tuškanac, where the remaining of the announced program will be held. The Festival will announce other changes via its web page and social networks.

The Festival will be opened by the film Werewolf, whose screening will be attended by the film’s director Adrian Panek, who will answer audience questions after the screening. The film shows the story of a group of children just released from a concentration camp, who end up in an abandoned building in the forest where new horrors await them. Entry to this screening, just like all other festival events, is free.

After the film screening, the Student Center will host a concert by the Austrian masters of jazz HI5. With their minimalist sound of chamber jazz drums, the guitar, vibraphone and bass, with each concert this band pushes the boundaries of the genre, creating an extraordinary experience with their abundance of creativity and playfulness.

From 7 to 13 April, the Festival offers more than 70 great feature, documentary and children’s films, traditional Educational Mornings, two exhibitions, discussion forums, round table discussions, book promotions and two concerts. This year, the Festival places special emphasis on the importance of acceptance and respect for diversity as well as the fundamental principles of equality and fairness. In line with this, the majority of films deal with human rights and other key current topics, such as refugees, racism and women’ rights.

The films include Croatian premieres of two international films featuring Croatian actors in prominent roles. Judita Franković Brdar plays the lead role in the intriguing Slovenian film Erased, while Krešimir Mikić stars in the thrilling Danish film Cutterhead. Both stars will attend the screenings. The Festival will be attended by numerous directors, including Marcus Schleinzer, director of the film Angelo, a true story of an African slave that becomes the mascot for the Vienna aristocracy.
