Daniel Wildmann is a guest lecturer who will introduce the visitors to the impact of bourgeois culture on the Nazism in the 1930s. Dr. Wildmann is a historian and movie scholar. He is also the director of the Leo Baeck Institute in London and a lecturer at Queen Mary's College, University of London. The subject of his research is modern German-Jewish history, Third Reich history, history of the body, masculinities, film and emotion. Currently he is researching the history of visual expressions of anti-Semitism, emotions and morality using Germany as an example of the silent film era.

‘Desired Bodies: the ideal of Aryan Masculinity’ is a Daniel Wildmann’s lecture which will focuse on the visual language of Reifenstahl’s movie ‘Olympia’ – a movie which is nowdays very appreciated. It will analyse the modus of representation of Aryan masculinity and show what kind of role anti-Semitism and the interpretation of Greek mythology had in it.

The lecture will be held on 12th of April at cinema Tuškanac, 12.00 PM.
