A celebration of film and film art in every respect, premiers on the topic of human rights, tolerance and freedom, numerous new ancillary programmes and a new concept – The 13th edition of the Festival of Tolerance will take place in Zagreb from 7th to 13th April at Europa and Kinoteka cinemas. The audience should expect some of the best productions of the international film scene.
With more than 60 films seeking to preserve the memory on the Holocaust victims and promote human rights and freedoms, tolerance and diversity, this year’s edition of the festival will also initiate a new programme - Tolerance Master Class. In the framework of the new programme, some of the best-known Croatian film artists will reveal all the phases and secrets of their creative processes that lead to their films immediately after the screenings. In that way they will leave a significant film document about the times and space we live in.
The 13th edition of the Festival of Tolerance will also present an intriguing exhibition of photographs titled Oni/They, produced by the festival in its entirety. The exhibition consists of portraits by renown Croatian photographers: Stanko Herceg, Mare Milin, Ana Opalić and Ivan Posavec. The exhibition will take place at various different attractive locations around Zagreb.
So far, the Festival hosted many famous cinematographers such as Steven Spielberg, Stefan Ruzowitzkog, Stellan Skarsgård, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Rade Šerbedžija, Volker Schlöndorff and Istvan Szabo while the Festival’s programme was visited by more than 140 thousand visitors. Also, more than 30 thousand people participated in various Festival’s educational programmes.
