The opening of the 12th Festival of Tolerance took place in a festive tone. This year, instead of addressing the guests, there was a minute of silence as a collective honoring the holocaust victims as well as all the victims of totalitarian regimes, for which the Festival is founded. The rise of hate speech as well as the strengthening of radicalism leave a mark on our daily lives, so the recently opened exhibition of Angelica Dass is "decorated” with Nazi symbols. We take this as an additional boost to our efforts to combat racism, because this action only confirms that people can only be separated on good and bad, not black and white.
Spend this week with ever so inspirational films and accompanying programme and support us in overall spreading tolerance.
