The Zajednički put foundation was established in 2005 pursuant to the Decision of the City of Zagreb Assembly and its activities were launched in April 2008. The Zajednički put foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the development, promotion and implementation of dignified, worthwhile, safe and active aging, tailored to the needs and capabilities of each individual senior citizen. The foundation promoted values of charity donations, volunteering and philanthropy and its purpose is to mediate with the donors who wish to contribute to a better life of the beneficiaries. The Zajednički put foundation believes that by meeting its goals it can contribute to creating social conditions for a dignified and good life of the elderly population and exercise their human rights, independence, social inclusion and active participation in decision making regarding their lives and the community. Also, the foundation aims to raise awareness among young people about aging and the needs of the elderly in their families, neighbourhoods and local communities. It includes both the young and the elderly in programmes fostering mutual understanding, exchange of knowledge and experiences to create mutual benefit. Also, the foundation believes it is possible to create a model of care and services available to as many senior citizens as possible, involving in the implementation all the available resources, especially those in the local community. The foundation’s activities, programmes and campaigns are based on research results, conducted with an interdisciplinary team of experts and the represent answers to a broad spectrum of senior citizens’ needs for good, dignified and active aging.
At the 14th Festival of Tolerance 25 senior citizens will present their drumming workshop.
