Mirko Ilić:
Symbols of hate

31.05.2016.11:00
2. Festival tolerancije Crna Gora / Podgorica, KIC (Velika sala)

Mirko Ilić, a world renowned graphic designer, illustrator and lecturer will give a multimedia lecture in which he will speak about neo-fascist iconography that is widely present in the public of former Yugoslavia states and wider. The lecture “Symbols of hate” discuses the local, or regional problem of ignoring or disinterest of public to observing the symbols and graphics hate speech of neo-Nazi groups (skinheads, neo-Nazi and extreme football supporters…) that are recently growing stronger, becoming larger and more violent. By showing slides of supporters, their tattoos, choreography, web pages and banners, the meaning of those symbols, that we see so often and which origins we are unfamiliar with, will be pointed out. Mirko Ilić has already given this lecture at four Educational Mornings in Zagreb, two in Ljubljana and one in Belgrade, and it is our great pleasure to introduce him in Podgorica.

The lecture is intended for high-school students, university students but also for general population.

The project is co-financed from the Europe for citizens fund - EACEA European Remembrance.
